THORVIK — LOSTWOOD — Funeral services for Henry C. Thorvik, 74, Berthold, a retired farmer and blacksmith, will be held here at 2 p.m. Thursday. He died at his home Monday of a heart attack. He had been in ill health for some time.

The services will be held at the Lutheran church with Rev. Morris Thompson of Coulee officiating. Mrs. Robert Lumley will at the organ, and there will be vocal solos by Mrs. Lumley and Mrs. Thompson.

Mr. Thorvik was born in Spicer, Minn., on Aug. 1885. In the spring of 1906 he and his parents came to Lostwood where he filed on a homestead. In addition to farming he also was a blacksmith in Lostwood.

On Nov. 7, 1917, he was married Ito Luella McKinney at Stanley She survives, as do a son, Charles, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Ruth) Barnett, Minot; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Knute (Lena) Bratland of Spicer. Mrs. George (Anna) Johnson of Everett, Wash., and Mrs. Joe (Sophie) Koepplinger of Marysville, Wash.: one brother, Bennie of Lostwood; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bertha, who died in infancy, and four sisters.

Mr. and Mrs. Thorvik lived at Lostwood until 1928, when they moved to Aurelia. They lived there for 28 years while Mr. Thorvik operated a blacksmith shop. They also had lived at Palermo for three years. In June of 1956 they moved to Berthold.

Pallbearers will be Reuben Westby, Floyd Leheman, Einar Arneson, Hugo Erickson, McCarl Mikkelson and Lloyd Pyan, Burial n will be in the Lostwood cemetery.

Lindell funeral home of Stanley has charge of arrangements.
