and his wife Polly Bliss, of Bertrand
Township, S. of Buchanan, Michigan.

Lillie Belle Howe,
was the Valedictorian of the very
first graduating class of Buchanan
High School in 1877. Lillie was the
second wife of Rev. Milo Smith whom
she married on March 31, 1896,
in Berrien Springs, Michign.
Milo and Lillie had three children:
1. Cleon Howe Smith (1897-1985).
2. Marjorie Eugina Smith (1899-1980)
who married R. E. Stannard Sr. and
had seven children. (Lillie's grandson
R. E. Standard Jr. states that Lillie
lived with his family in her later
years, and that she always fell asleep
with a book in her hand).
3. Cecil Ray Smith (1902-1931).
Milo and Lillie Smith later moved to
Redlands, California for his health.
Rev. Milo Smith and his wife Lillie
Belle (Howe) Smith are buried in
the "Hillside Memorial Park"
(in Plot: "Block M"), in
Redlands, San Bernardino County
California, along with their son
