A meat cutter, he was the former owner/operator of the Hill Top Market and Charlie's DeCorner Grocery Store in Martinsville. He was also co-owner of DeCorner Liquors and Discount Liquors, both in Martinsville.
Survivors include his wife, Carol S. DeMott; two sons, Brad DeMott of Spokane, Wash., and Craig DeMott of Martinsville; one daughter, Renda Trimble of Martinsville; two stepsons, Wayne Moore of Martinsville and Scott Moore of Tipton; and one sister, Eleanor Witt of Mooresville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Neal & Summers Mortuary in Martinsville. Burial will be at New South Park Cemetery.
