Former Alaskan Ted H. Cunningham, 69, died Jan. 8 in Sequim, Wash. A graveside service was held Jan. 13 at Sequim View Cemetery. The Sequim Veterans of Foreign Wars officiated.
Mr. Cunningham was born July 9, 1925, in Everett, Wash., to Francis and Irene Long Cunningham. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and lived in Alaska from 1972 to 1977, selling and appraising mobile homes. In 1977, he moved to Sequim and owned and operated the Dungeness Tavern. Mr. Cunningham was a life member of the VFW and member of the Sequim Elks. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ione.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Richard McIalwain of Anchorage; two grandchildren, Kim Thompson and Kris Harris of Anchorage; and four great-grandchildren, Whitney McIalwain, Kayli Thompson, Tyler Thompson and Trace Harris, all of Anchorage. Arrangements were handled by Sequim Valley Chapel.
