Florence M. Hoerth, 94, of Kiel died peacefully Easter Sunday morning, March 23, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the former Florence Heimerl born December 21, 1913 in Hilbert, daughter of the late Joseph & Mary Lauer Heimerl. She attended St. Mary's Grade school in Hilbert. On June 7, 1938 Florence married Alfred "Al" P. Hoerth at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert. Alfred preceded her in death on November 8, 2000. The couple farmed for over 50 years in the Town of Schleswig. Florence was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel and the Christian Women's Society. She also was a member of the Marian Devotions Prayer Group. Florence was a wonderful mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, playing a good game of sheepshead and gardening. Survivors include her children: Marilyn (Michael) Steffen, New Holstein, LaVerne Bitts and special friend, Rodney Capanash, Aurora, IL, Rosalene (Anthony) Lefeber, Armstrong, Kathleen (Joel) Belland, Racine, Rich (Chris) Hoerth, rural Kiel, Thomas (Karol) Hoerth, Whitefish Bay, twenty grandchildren and thirty one great grandchildren. She is further survived by one son-in-law, Mark Stevens, British Columbia, one daughter-in-law, Rose Ann Hoerth, New Holstein, two sisters, Marcella Lenz, Chilton, Henrietta Knepfel, Ripon, two sister-in-laws, Jean Hoerth, New Holstein. Emma Heimerl, Hilbert, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Hoerth, one daughter, Jeanette Stevens, one son-in-law, Bernard Schuler, one grandson, Scott Bitts, one sister, Delores Hoerth and two brothers, Francis Heimerl and Ralph Heimerl. The funeral mass for Florence will be celebrated, Friday, March 28, 2008 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys S.D.S. officiating.
