Gini was born on December 24, 1942 in Kansas City, KS to Kenneth and Lizzibell Johnson. She was the oldest of two girls born to this union.

Gini had a love for reading, and she was also a very good speller. She competed in and won spelling bee's in her youth. She also enjoyed activities such as volleyball and gymnastics.

Gini eventually found a love for flowers and floristry so she went to Casper, Wyoming for college to be able to pursue that passion. There is where she met her husband William DeLett, who was in the Air Force. Gini and William were married and a year later their son was born.

Gini worked in numerous flower shops throughout the years. She also had a passion for cooking and made some of the best pork chops around. Gini also had a love for Christmas, she was after all, a Christmas baby. She had many collectables that were Christmas themed. Gini had one sister Julie and they had a very close relationship before her passing.

In her later years, Gini lived at Prairie Pines and was very active with the residents there. She still had her love for flowers and loved to share that with other residents.
