In 1890 they moved to Bear where they stopped on their way to Clearwater area to make some money working on the Kleinschmidt Grade. They never left the Bear area. Amos and his sons-in-laws started the first school at Bear. It ran for a term of two months. He and his daughter, Amy, were successful in getting a post office in Bear.
