Frank James, 71, long time resident of Waurika was dead on arrival at the Jefferson County Hospital at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday morning. He died of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Campbell Long, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Waurika Perpetual Care Cemetery under direction of Worley & Sons Funeral Home.
James was born Dec. 14, 1908 at Weleetka. He moved with his parents, William and Helen James, to a farm northwest of Waurika in 1917 and attended the Melrose School.
He had been a truck driver in Oklahoma City and farmed.
On Jan. 20, 1935, he married Charlotte Holbrook of Chickasha. They moved to a farm west of Waurika until March of 1955 when he moved into town. He continued farming until he retired in 1974.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are his wife, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Helen James of Waurika; three brothers, H.C. (Jack), Ben and Buck, all of Waurika; four sisters, LaVera Hooper of Pottsburg, Tex., Odell Faulkner of Norman, Mary Conners of Hurst, Tex. and Lois Thurman of Waurika.
Pall bearers will be Bill Rich, Buck Cullar, R.V. Howard, Leland Countiss, Howard Gover and Gary Gerken.
