Rev. Louis Thomas Ivey, age 76 died Sunday in a Jacksonville hospital following a long illness. Born in Leesburg, Florida. Was a member of the Woodsmen of the World and past Master of Cabul Lodge 116, F. and A.M. of Green Cove Springs. Clerk of the Circuit Court of Clay County, having served in that capacity for 28 years.

A member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church, of which he was pastor for a number of years. He was also a pastor at Lemon Heights Baptist Church, Palatka for several years.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belle Bradley Ivey. three sons, Walter Warren Ivey,
Louis James Ivey, and Mrs. Alice W. Hulvey, all of Green Cove Springs; ten grandcildren and one great grand child.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. in the Hickory Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. R.L. Franklin pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Arthur A. Jameson. The body rested at the home until 1:00 P.M. Pallbearers were selected from the Masonic Lodge and Masonic services were conducted at the grave. Burial was in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, with funeral arrangements under the direction of the Ralph W. Tucker Funeral Home.



Served as Sheriff from 24 Aug 1911 until 16 Sept 1911 after his father-in-law, James Weeks died, until a special election could be held.


First wife of Louis Thomas Ivey. United in Marriage January 28, 1897 to Lillia Athelia Weeks. Daughter of James Elam Weeks. and Celia Ann Daniel Weeks.
