Richard, or Dick as he was known by all, was born on December 19, 1924, in Morehead City, North Carolina, to the late John and Lula Eubanks, one of seventeen children. Coming from a large household, Dick appreciated family and the relationships he had with each of them.

Eubanks and wife Frances of Newport; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Lulah Eubanks who passed away in 1982; his second wife of 10 years, Violet Eubanks who passed away in 1992; step-daughters, Betty Norrick and Joyce Oneal; step-son, Rick Lee Brooks; along with 13 sisters and brothers.
