Mrs. Brown was born June 21, 1957 In Portland, the daughter of Robert L. and Jacqueline C. (Vian) Johnston. She was raised in the St. John's area of Portland and later attended Milwaukie High School.
She married Bart Brown on Feb. 16, 1984 in Crescent City, Calif. They made their home in Crescent City until 1988 when the moved to Blue Lake, Calif. In 1991 they moved to Gaston. While living in California she worked as a flag person for three years. After moving to Gaston she worked as a cashier in the employee restaurant at Merix for four years. In 1995 she began working with her husband in his business, Accu-Fab, Inc.
Her interests included growing vegetables and flowers in her greenhouse, arranging dried flowers and collecting ceramic plates and masks. She loved to sing and listen to country music.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Bart Brown of Gaston; two sons, Joshua Gibson of Puyallup, Wash., and James Gibson of Germany; brother Ty Johnston of Portland; sister Lisa Johnston of Portland; and several nieces and nephews.
