Dennis Elwyn Ferrell, age 65, passed away peacefully at his home and entered his heavenly home after a 4-year battle with cancer.
Dennis has spent most of his life in Pennsylvania. He was born in Philadelphia and spent his early childhood in Bristol, before moving to Sellersville when he was 15. It was at that time he met his wife, Joyce. They were married in 1978 and started their family. Family life was very important to them.
After graduating from Pennridge High School, Dennis joined the Army in 1975. He served as Military Police in Germany for most of his 3-year enlistment. He joined the Air Force Reserves from 1987 to 1989 as Security Police in Willow Grove.
Dennis began working at Lemmon Pharmacal Company as a Security Officer in 1979. The company name changed many times (Lemmon, Teva Pharmaceuticals, and G&W Labs) as did his title (officer, manager, and director). He worked in this field for 40 years with responsibilities including physical security, narcotic compliance, DEA liaison, physical supply chain, global anti-counterfeiting, and leading a team of security officers. During these years, he earned his CPP and a bachelor's degree in Security Management. He was a member of ASIS, serving as the local Chapter Chairman for several years. He retired in 2020.
Dennis was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 50 years. He served as a deacon, school board member, and Sunday School teacher. His favorite role was being an usher where he greeted everyone with a smile and humor.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ferrell, Sr. and his daughter, Rachel Ferrell. He is survived by his cherished wife, Joyce (Mitchell); his son, Jeremy; his daughter, Megan Kile (Tim) and 3 granddaughters, Kindsey, Scotlyn, and Taya; his mother, Jeanette (Haegle); his siblings, Robert Ferrell Jr. (Deborah), Cindy Filson (Gary), Tina Ferrell, and extended family members.
