AYER PUBLIC TURNER'S SPIRIT-10 Feb. 1912:

DEATH - Charles Lyman Jeffrey, for fourteen years pastor's assistant at Tremont Temple, and an active worker in the church for more than a quarter of a century, died on Tuesday, February 6, at his home in Dorchester.
For the last four months he had been a sufferer from heart disease and unable to leave his home.
For forty years Mr. Jeffrey had been a member of Tremont Temple, and for twenty-six years he had been president of the church chorus. He had been a teacher in the Sunday school for more than thirty years and was clerk of the executive committee of the church during all his term as assistant to the pastor.
Mr. Jeffrey was born in Lynn in 1852, and spent his early life in New Hampshire. Later, the family moved to Groton and afterwards to Littleton, where his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin F. Jeffrey are now living.
In 1874, he married Lucinda E. [daughter of the late Abel Flagg of Littleton]. She died many years ago, leaving one child, Lucinda E., a graduate of Wellesley college, and now a teacher in a girl's school in the south.
When Mr. Jeffrey first went to Boston, he engaged in the provision business in Faneuil Hall Market. He was associated with his brother, Frederick H. Jeffrey, who is still in business there. Two other brothers survive him, Frank E. Jeffrey of Everett, and the invalid brother, James, with whom he lived.
The burial will take place in the Jeffrey lot at Westlawn Cemetery.
