James Braden

James Braden, an old resident of Hoopeston, who died at his home on the east end of Thompson avenue, Tuesday afternoon of a complication of diseases, after an illness of several months, will be buried today.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Free Methodist church, Rev. Mrs. Arnold officiating and interment will be in Floral Hill cemetery.
The deceased was unmarried and his sister, Miss Mary Braden, made her home with him and took care of him during his illness. He was 72 years old and was a veteran of the civil war. He was one of the early settlers in Vermilion county and always had many friends in this civicity.
Mr. Braden who lived on his small farm just outside the city for many years and here he labored in contenment. He was known by young and old and was always cheerily welcomed when he was able to be about the streets.
