Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patterson, pioneer residents of East Grand Forks, died Sunday morning, Mrs. Patterson dying two hours before her husband. A double funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the undertaking palors of M. Norman. Rev. Carl Perrin of the Mendenhall Presbyterian church, officiated at the services and interment was made in Memorial Park cemetery. The deaths of Mr. and Mrs. occurred Sunday at the home of their son, Joseph Patterson, 315 South Fourth Street. Mr. Patterson, who was 73 years old, died at 12:30 p.m. His death was due to tuberculosis. Mrs. Patterson, who was 66 years old died at 10:30 Sunday morning. She had been suffering from a complication of diseases for the past thirteen years, which had been aggravated during the last few months by the strain of taking care of her husband. She broke down last Saturday and then failed rapidly until her death.
Mr. and Mrs. Patterson are survived by two sons, J.C. Patterson of East Grand Forks and Houston Patterson of Oslo, and one daughter, Mrs. J.F. Anderson, of Larimore, N.D. The deceased couple lived down by Red River, in Marshall County, in the early days. Companions in a long life, they became in fact, companions in death also.
