Tampa, Florida
19 October 1959

I, Mary Jane Altman, of 1305 East Cayuga Street, Tampa, Florida, make the following statements:

That I, Mary Jane (Anderson) Altman, was born November 8, 1864, in Quitman, Georgia. I am the widow of John Columbus Altman, born December 8, 1852, the son of Sampson Altman and Alice Ann (Bryan) Altman. He died on November 13, 1913, at Myakka, Florida, and is buried in Myakka Methodist Church Cemetery. We were married in Polk County, Florida, on February 15, 1883. The following children were born to us: Mary Lula Altman, Annie Cornelia Altman, Ethel Ola Altman, Susan Victoria Altman, Nana Florence Altman, John Washington Altman, Bonnie Lee Altman, Rubie Priscilla Altman, Cordie Opal Altman, and William Robert Altman.

That John Albritton Anderson and Cornelia (McRae) Anderson were my parents, that John Albritton Anderson was born in Thomas Country, Georgia, and died at Chicora, Polk County, Florida, and is buried in an unmarked grave near his home on the banks of the Alafia River. There are also unmarked graves of Ardelia Strickland, Shuddied Padgett, and Annie Albritton baby (unreadable text) Cornelia (McRae) Albritton was born in Valdosta, Georgia, and died at Fort Meade, Polk County, Florida and is buried in New Hope Cemetery near Fort Meade, Florida.

That I was about ten or eleven years of age when my father, John Albritton Anderson, died and was buried by the Masons from Bartow, Florida. I attended his graveside funeral. I can't remember the date my father died, but he had a friend whose name was John W. Hendry and his daughter Jeannie married a man by the name of Strickland the next day after my father died.

That Moses Anderson and Rachel (McClelland) Anderson were the parents of John Albritton Anderson, my father, and that Moses Anderson was the son of Joseph and Sarah Anderson, and that Joseph Anderson was a Revolutionary War Soldier. I also remember going with my parents to visit my father's brother, Moses LaFayette Anderson, son of Moses and Rachel. They lived on the home place of my grandparents, Moses and Rachel, in Hernando County, Florida, which is now in Pasco County and about three miles from Elfers, Florida. I saw the unmarked graves of my grandparents there on their property near the house.

That Daniel W. McRae and Lucinda Caroline (Collins) McRae were the parents of my mother Cornelia McRae, and that Daniel W. McRae was the son of Philip McRae, another of my Revolutionary War ancestors.

That my grandmother, Rachel (McClelland) Anderson, was the sister of Silas McClelland, who lived in Hernando County, Florida, then Polk County, Florida.
