Leida Ilda Bandini, née Cano, died peacefully in her home on October 7, 2015 in Pearland, Texas at the age of 81, surrounded by family and friends that she so dearly loved.
Leida is survived by her three sons and their respective families, all of whom live in Houston. Her oldest son is Carlos Ruben Bandini, married to Nancy Mirta Pregrasso; they have four children: Sabrina Ruth, Timothy Aldo, Matthew Neil and Sharron Anne. Her middle son is Federico Daniel Bandini, married to Susana Mabel Ribeiro; they have three children: Amanda Erin, Veronica Andrea and Wesley Ryan. Her youngest son is David Aldo Bandini, married to Lisa Lee Hively; they have two children: Tyler David and Tanner Lee. Leida has three great-grandchildren: Jacob Luke and Hannah Elizabeth, children of Sabrina and her husband Guillermo Acuña, and Emma Aurora, daughter of Veronica and her husband Motoi Otsuki, with a fourth great-grandchild on the way – Bianca Rose, daughter of Amanda and her husband Johnathan Yazdani. Leida is survived by many dear nieces and nephews. She had a very special relationship with her sister Nelly Diaz and her sister's three daughters – Nilda Bryant, Haydee Diaz and Adriana Roldan. She also had a very special best-friend whom she met in 1961, who was like a sister, Antonia (Ñica) Barroso.

Leida is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 26 years, Aldo Carlos Bandini, her parents who were born in Spain - mother Josefa Valenzuela and father Juan Cano, her two sisters Nelly Diaz and Josefa (Ñata) Navarrete, and her three brothers Antonio Cano, Francisco Cano and Juan Cano.

Leida was born on November 22, 1933 in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina. She was the youngest of six children. She met her future husband in the town plaza in December 1949. She married Aldo Carlos Bandini on February 27, 1954. Leida, her husband Aldo, and two children born in Argentina – Ruben and Federico – immigrated to Texas in November 1960. Her youngest son David was later born in Texas City, Texas in 1964. The couple welcomed their three sons into their home, and Leida set about teaching them to love God and neighbor. The family moved to Houston in 1970. Her children remember Leida as a loving mother, caring friend, and Godly woman who always encouraged them and their families.

Leida was a kind and prayerful woman who loved reading her Bible and encouraging her family, friends, and members of her church. She loved and honored her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a founding and active member of South Houston Spanish Bible Chapel since 1982.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, October 11 and Monday, October 12 at Forest Park East, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598. Juan DiCesare, Pastor of Verdad En Amor Church, will officiate the services. Please note that all services will be in Spanish.
