Betty Jeane Couch, age 96, of Edina, MO passed away Monday June 19, 2023 in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO. She was born in Scotland County, MO near Bible Grove on July 23, 1926, the daughter of Carl and Ruby Pearl Allnutt Blaine.

She was united in marriage to Albert Harold "Bud" Couch on November 29, 1941, in Memphis, MO and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1972. Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, one son-in-law William L. "Bill" Early and one great granddaughter Linda Sue Ewing.

Since Betty was two years old, she was raised by her paternal grandparents and her aunts and uncles were like her brothers and sisters.

Surviving are four children, Linda Sue Early of Edina, MO, Albert "Buddy" (Diana) Couch of LaBelle, MO, David Leo (Mary) Couch of Edina, MO, and Rebecca Jill Reed (Tim) Skinner of Edina, MO, a brother Michael (Sara) Blaine from Kahoka, MO, twelve grandchildren, Jeanie (Larry) Ewing, Nena (David) Palmer, Billy (Connie) Early, Mac Early, Susie (Matt) Thornburg, Tony (Kristen) Couch, Tim (Brianna) Couch, Angie Spencer, Aimee (Cory) Logsdon, Brooke Eskridge, Blaine (Jacob) Pestle and Samuel (Brandi) Skinner, twenty-six great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren.

Betty received her education in the Bible Grove School and received her GED in the 1980's. Betty was a farm wife from 1945 to 1972 where she kept everything working and raised sheep. She also worked for several years at Knox County Implement and was then employed with Don Harrison Insurance Agency till 2020 as a crop insurance agent. Betty was an active member of the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church, a member of the Greensburg Eastern Star, a 4-H volunteer, and a founding member of Knox County Relay for Life. Betty was a self-made seamstress and enjoyed croquet, a mean game of pitch, bowling, John Wayne movies and spending time with her family. She enjoyed attending countless activities for her family and always cheering in the bleachers. Her love of games was unmatched. She was an amazing woman with unshakable faith and true grit.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 23, 2023, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will be in the Slocum Cemetery west of Greensburg, MO. Officiating the services will be Reverend Reese Blaine. Music will be congregational hymns When We All Get To Heaven, Mansion Over The Hill Top, What A Day That Will Be and Take My Hand Precious Lord, led by the Pleasant Ridge Christian Church.

Casket bearers will be Tim Couch, Tim Skinner, Mac Early, Billy Early, Sam Skinner and Jacob Pestle. Honorary bearers will be Bob Couch, Lonnie Couch, Tony Couch and Michael Blaine, along with countless family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Slocum Cemetery and/or the Shiloh Children's Ranch at Clarence, MO. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
