Mr. Moore operated heavy equipment for several construction companies during his career. He retired in 1998 after 15 years with the Bayer Construction Co. He served in the 455th Bomb Group in the European Theater during World War II.
He was born April 3, 1923, in Olsburg, the son of Clarence B. and Clara Melgren Moore. He graduated from Olsburg High School in 1941. He moved to Manhattan in 1958.
Mr. Moore was a member of Pearce-Keller Post No. 17 of the American Legion in Manhattan.
He married Mildred B. Lake on Aug. 31, 1963, in Manhattan. She died Oct. 5, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Simpson, Mulvane; two sisters, Cecile Ingalsbe and Betty Brooks, both of Manhattan; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home in Manhattan. Burial with full military honors will be at Sunrise Cemetery in Manhattan. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
