Had Served As Commissioner And Was Prominent in All Circles

Mr. Berndard Evers died at his home near St. Rose on Wenesday evening and the funeral will be held in that village on Saturday morning at nine o'clock. Mr. Evers was a former commissioner of Mercer county and he had been prominently identified with affairs in his home community for a number of years. He was a farmer by vocation and was the owner of a well improved farm two and one half miles west of St. Rose.
The deceased was born near St. Rose in the year of 1860 and he spent all of his life in that locality. He was 67 years of age and of strong mentality up to the time of his death. During the fall of 1926 he began to suffer with diabetes and his condition grew worse with the passing of the days. He entertained hopes of being cured notwithstanding his gradual decline and did not surrender but was overpowered.
During his young manhood he was married to a Miss Beckman who passed away during the year of 1919, bu he is survived by the following children: Clara Schoenlein who lives at home; Mary Kremer who reside at Carthagena; Two brothers are living, Clemens and William Evers at Cassella.
He was a member of the Catholic Church at St. Rose and a member of the men's society of that congregation.
