This is an unknown person buried very close to Mr. Sheffield. It is possible that this was his wife's tombstone. In fact, I am convinced that this is his wife, but I am not convinced that her maiden name was Davenport as others propose. If anyone has proof of that, I will gladly add it. It seems obvious that the Sheffields resided in this area of McNairy County, Tennessee prior to 1860 and she died there. Mr. Sheffield moved on to Alcorn County, Mississippi with family, where he later died, his body beingtransported back for burial next to his wife.
