Walter Emil Bauder was born March 16, 1931 in McLaughlin, SD to Jacob and Caroline (Mertz) Bauder. He married Shirley Joan Schneider on November 14, 1958 at Chester, Montana.

He is survived by his wife of Mobridge, one son David Jon Bauder of Kent, Washington, three daughters, Brenda (John) Muse of Kent, Washington, Carol (Robert) Hartz of Tacoma, Washington and Annette Faux of Tacoma, Washington. Two granddaughters Amber Faux and Brandy Muse (Buffalo). Also the woman that raised him Viola Brockel. Three brothers Richard (Erma), Harvey and Ervin (Janice). Three sisters Ernestine Ballard, Viola Stotz(Eugene) and Bernice Record (Carroll). Three sister-inlaws Violet Bauder, Julita Bauder and Marie Bauder. One brother in-law, Raymond Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, Frederich (1968), Christoph (1980), Reuben (1981) Milbert (1985) and Edward (1994). One sister Hilda Nelson (1980). One brother in-law John Ballard(1995). Two sister in-laws Almetha Bauder (1991)and Mary Bauder (1990). Also the man that raised him Reuben Brockel.
