J. Frank Fair, food broker and past president of the Atlanta Food Brokers Association, died Wednesday in a hospital here. His residence was at 3560 Kingsboro Rd., Northwest.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church with Dr. Monroe F. Swilley officiating.
Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Fair was active in the food brokerage business here for 50 years.
Born in Beech Island, S.C., he came to Atlanta in 1900. In 1928, he joined Roy H. Massey in forming a food brokerage company, Massey & Fair.
He was the son of the late John Frank and Laura Mildred Walker Fair.
He married the former Miss Bess Hall of Knoxville, in1905.
In 1904, Mr. Fair joined the old Ponce de Leon Church, which later became the Second-Ponce de Leon Church. He was a deacon at Second-Ponce de Leon.
He was a past treasurer of the Atlanta Kiwanis Club and was a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. C. W. McCrary, and two grandchildren, Frances Fair and Wiley McCrary, all of Atlanta.
