By the 1920 census, the family is residing in Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, where John L. 52 is a laborer at the power house, with single son Orville 27 a salesman of mens furnishings, and Eddise 18 telephone operator.
1930 census, Richland, Belmont, Ohio, finds J.L. Kiger 62 caretaker in home of W. F. Kennedy a hardware merchant and his family, also John's wife Susan is lodging there with him.
His death notices in newspaper indicate he was retired employee of Wheeling Public Service Co. He was survived by a daughter Eddise- Mrs. John Davis of Finleyville, PA.
