13 May 1963: Mrs. Salome A. Bachman, 78, died at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Camp-A-While Guest Home, Campbelltown, where she had been a patient for four weeks. She was the wife of Simon K. Bachman, 168 E. Main St., Campbelltown. Mrs. Bachman was a member of the Campbelltown Evangelical United Brethren Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Earl S., Schaefferstown; four daughters, Meta, wife of Mays Kurtz, Lebanon RD 5; Helen, wife of William Houck, Columbia; Arlene, wife of Paul Fernsler, Campbelltown, and Vivian, wife of Nevin Bordlemay, Annville RD 1; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The daughter of the late Benjamin and Clara Wilhelm Smith, she was the last of her immediate family. [Lebanon Daily News]
