Ollie Goings Hughes, 101, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired production worker for the Manhattan Shirt Factory, died Monday morning in a local nursing home.

The funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday morning, March 12, 2008, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service on WEDNESDAY. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the United Hospice of the Midlands, 1055 St. Matthews Rd., Orangeburg, SC 29115. Directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER.

Mrs. Hughes was born Sept. 22, 1906, in Greeleyville, SC, a daughter of Horace Winford Goings and Willie Horn Goings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, and the Elma Kaye Sunday School Class. During the war, she was a welder at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Mrs. Hughes was the widow of George Benjamin Hughes.

Surviving are, a daughter, Mazie H. Todd and her husband, Arlo, of Anderson, SC; two grandchildren, Christina Costy and Jerry Eugene Beckley; and three great grandchildren, Benjamin Costy, Patience Hunter, and Mackenzie Beckley.
