The funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday morning, March 12, 2008, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in Berkeley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service on WEDNESDAY. Mrs. Hughes was born Sept. 22, 1906, in Greeleyville, SC, a daughter of Horace Winford Goings and Willie Horn Goings. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, and the Elma Kaye Sunday School Class. During the war, she was a welder at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Mrs. Hughes was the widow of George Benjamin Hughes.
Surviving are, a daughter, Mazie H. Todd and her husband, Arlo, of Anderson, SC; two grandchildren, Christina Costy and Jerry Eugene Beckley; and three great grandchildren, Benjamin Costy, Patience Hunter, and Mackenzie Beckley.
