Mary Pittman Buchanan
Mary Pittman Buchanan, age 89, of Washburn Road in Spruce Pine passed away Friday, November 30, 2007 at her residence.
A native of Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertie Burleson Pitman and wife of the late Charlie Buchanan, who passed away in 1982.

Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Spruce Pine.
Survivors include; sons, Ronnie and wife Elizabeth Buchanan, Tommy and wife Kathy Buchanan, Jerry and wife Ruth Buchanan, Andrew Buchanan, Homer and wife Dimple Buchanan, Rev. Arthur and wife Anita Buchanan all of Spruce Pine, Rev. Robert and wife Vickie Buchanan of Bakersville, Charles Ray and wife Doris Buchanan of Bakersville and Ricky Buchanan of the home; daughters, Ann Lee Rich of Drexel, Shirley and husband Joe Newton, Doris and husband David Mace of Spruce Pine, Peggy and Georgia Buchanan of the home; sisters, Mable Mace and Belle Pittman, twenty-six grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, twelve great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Freewill Baptist Church of Spruce Pine. The Revs' Ralph Hedrick and Jimmy Arrowood will officiate the services.
* Internment will be in the church cemetery.
