Helen "Diane" Bloodworth Ostapuk
December 29, 1955 - March 5, 2023
Our beloved wife and mother, Diane Ostapuk, passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 67 from influenza pneumonia. She was born in Roswell, New Mexico on December 29, 1955, to James Ross Bloodworth and June Marie Hutto.
Diane is survived by her husband, Paul Ostapuk; daughters – Tara Denner (Ryan) and Amy Hudson (Bryan Wong); brothers – Bill Bloodworth and Ted Raby; and sisters – Barbara Gregg and Cathy Singleton. She has four grandchildren (Elle, Lauder, Ava and Lark).
Diane married in 1983 and moved to Page, Arizona in 1985. She served the Page community by working as a nurse at the Page Hospital, was President of the Page Hospital Board, and for many years volunteered as a hospice worker. Diane worked for the City of Page beginning in 1996 as the Senior Center Program Coordinator and was instrumental in the Community Development Block Grant that expanded the building's footprint. She finished her working career at Hancock Materials and Western Rock.
Diane loved gardening and visiting nursery stores. Once inside, surrounded by the soothing vibrations of plants and the splash of pond water, she would linger until closing time came. Diane was a passionate dog lover. The nurturing of animals, big and small, provided her a great source of comfort. On walks in the desert, she appreciated the timeless beauty of small, colorful rocks found along the pathway and the expansiveness of the constellations above.
Her calm and caring spirit leaves a hole in our lives…but her energy lives on in the lives that she touched.
A memorial service for Diane is planned for 2 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. David Episcopal Church at 421 S Lake Powell Blvd, Page, Arizona, with visitation available at 1 pm. Interment at the Page Cemetery will be under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
