A graduate of North Huntingdon High School, Class of 1952, she was a switchboard operator at Bell Telephone for 17 years in Irwin, Greensburg and Wilkinsburg, and then became an administrative assistant to her husband in his CPA practice in Irwin. She was a fun and vivacious person who loved everyone she met and who loved her in return. She took up baton twirling as a child, winning many awards including the State of Michigan Junior Baton Twirling Championship. When she moved to the Irwin area, she headed the North Huntingdon High School marching band. Dancing and traveling were passions for both she and her husband. She always kept up with the latest dance steps, including salsa and bachata. They traveled the world, hitting all 50 states and places in North, South and Central America, as well as Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. For 25 years in retirement, they lived in Hawaii for four months each year. They were featured in the New York Times Sunday supplement as part of the article, "The Face of Oahu."
