February 4, 2011 in Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born on August 19, 1938 in Louisville, Kentucky; the daughter of Alvin and Dorothy Scarlett Downing.
Florence was a graduate of Westmoreland Central School and following
her retirement from Oneida Silversmiths of twenty-five years, she graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College with a degree in Culinary Arts.
On January 24, 1959 she married Deoutin "Lee" Marshall in Camden.
He died August 5, 2003.
She was a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son daughter, Denyse Marshall, Dayton, Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Teresa Marshall, Tipp City, Ohio; Gerald "Jerry" and Gail Marshall, Belleview, Florida; a sister, Deb Jones, New Carlisle, Ohio; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Bob and Shirley Downing, Poughkeepsie; Don Downing, Robinson, Tennessee; Phil and Chaun Downing, New Carlisle, Ohio; Mike and Sue Downing, Dayton, Ohio; Duane and Joanne Downing, New Carlisle, Ohio six grandchildren, Candace, Josh, Justin, Brian, Patrick, Zoye and two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Alissa. She was predeceased by a sister, Susan Downing.
Services: Funeral services will he held Wednesday 10:30AM at the Vienna United Methodist Church with Rev. Marsha Madore officiating. Interment Maple Flats Cemetery, Cleveland, New York.
