Marjorie Maxine Hattie Ehlers Gustin, age 98, passed away peacefully, Monday, June 5, 2023. She was born November 11, 1924, in Geary County, Kansas, to John and Marie Ehlers. She married to Dale B. Gustin on June 27, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. They were married for over 50 years.

Marjorie was an avid artist of many years, selling paintings at craft shows and gifting to family and friends. She worked as a cook in the Geary County School District, retiring after 20 years.

Marjorie loved her Lord and accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the age of 90.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale; her parents; brothers, Roland Ehlers, Claus F. Ehlers, and Walter D. Ehlers; infant sister, Lilly; sisters, Leona Porter, and Gloria Salberg.

Marjorie is survived by her children Joyce Chaplinski of San Antonio, Texas, Maria Eckert of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Wanda (Danny) Copeland of North Richland Hills, Texas, Steven (Patty) Gustin of Abilene, Kansas, and Cindy Lee (William) Wanto of Fair Oaks, Pennsylvania ; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, Kansas, on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery, Milford, Kansas.
