Wilda Lee (Beal) Jenkins

Wilda Lee Jenkins, 89, of Kingwood, passed away, Sunday, May 28, 2023 in Morgantown, WV. She was born in Newburg, WV, March 6, 1934, a daughter of the late Albert F. Beal and Edith N. (Poling) Beal.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Robert Lee Jenkins, who passed December 5, 1997.

Wilda was a 1952 graduate of Newburg High School, in 1951 she represented Newburg High as a princess in the Buckwheat Festival. After High School she worked as a soda jerk at Schwab Drug Store. She also worked at the Kinney Shoe factory, and as a secretary for the Buckwheat Express, all while working as a bookkeeper for Robert L. Jenkins Trucking Company.

Wilda was a Methodist by faith, she loved being a homemaker and gardening, her home was always open to all of the neighborhood kids. She spent a lot of time reading, but what she treasured most was her family, they always came first.

Surviving are: one daughter, Connie Beveridge and husband David, of Lenox; three grandchildren, Josh Everton, of Kingwood, Courtney Stemple and husband Dean, of Spotsylvania, VA, and Danielle Spriggs and husband Scott, of Winchester, VA; five great grandchildren, Rylan Everton, Madison Stemple, Nicholas Stemple, and Brinkley Stemple, and Corbin Spriggs; one sister, Joy Yvonne "Bonnie" Casteel, of Bethelehem, PA; and one sister-in-law, Judy Beal, of Reedsville, WV.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by: one brother Ronald F. Beal; one brother and sister in law, Harold and Betty Jenkins; one sister Gloria Mae Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted,at 3pm, Friday, June 2, 2023, at Centenary Cemetery, with Pastor Rich Schimansky officiating. Those going to the graveside service will meet at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295. S. Price Street, Kingwood, at 2pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
