Death of Mrs. John C. Eidt - There passed away at her home here on Monday, Jan. 5th, Elizabeth Otto, widow of the late John C. Eidt, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 20 days. The deceased was an esteemed resident of the town and a valued member of the Evangelical Church. She was born in North Easthope and following her marriage resided on a farm at Philipsburg for many years, retiring with her husband and family to New Hamburg about fifteen years ago. Her husband predeceased her about ten years ago, but she leaves four daughters to mourn her passing. They are Mrs. F. J. Wetzel, of Moorefield, Mrs. Edward Niebergall, of the Gravel Road, and the Misses Zeborah and Eunice Eidt at home. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from her late home on Weber Street to the Evangelical Church, where Rev. A. E. Pletch held the funeral service and was attended by a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Following the service interment was made in the family plot in Riverside Cemetery.
