William "Bill" Haydon Hill died on September 10, 2017 at the age of 92. He last resided at Cypress Village in Jacksonville, FL with his wife of nearly 69 years, Dorothy Margaret Hill. He was born in Alfreton, Derbyshire, England on May 30, 1925 to Albert and Doris Hill. He was a member of the Royal Air Force, serving as a navigator bomb aimer. He was trained to navigate and fly Lancaster Bombers and received training to fly Mosquitos. Bill was awarded a Full Bright Scholarship to Harvard and received his MBA at the Business school in 1956. He worked in finances as a consultant and in mergers and acquisitions. He started and was president several times of the M&A International Group. He was a member of the Society for Advancement of Management and Financial Executive Institute. He was also a member and officer in the Meninak Club of Jacksonville, FL.

Bill had many interests and hobbies throughout his life. He enjoyed golfing, walking with his dog, Maggie, traveling with Dorothy, tai chi, yoga, working out at the gym, playing bridge, gardening, genealogy and taking OLLI classes at UNF. He had a big personality and was well loved by many. His friend, Jack shared some lovely words about him. "Our friendship extended to some 75 years. He was larger than life when we first met in 1942 and never changed as you will all be aware. Coming from a modest background and limited opportunity he was a fine example of self-education and advancement without privilege to professional level. Brave enough to take his chance for improvement in a new world supported by Dorothy. He worked his way to success. He was generous, loyal and above all a great American!" Bill was friendly, generous, humorous, strong willed, determined, loved to tell jokes and was a lifelong learner. He is survived by his wife, three sons, a daughter, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held on September 23, 2017 at 2:30pm at Cypress Village in Egret's Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
