Mrs. Jewell "Jo" Georgene Magee, 84 of Tylertown, MS passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Walthall County General Hospital. She was born Wednesday, January 11, 1939 in Tylertown, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023 from 2:00 PM until funeral at 3:00 PM at Capps Funeral Home in 270 Old Hwy 98 E, Tylertown, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Tylertown, Mississippi. Brother David Williams will officiate. Capps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Jo was a devoted mother and grandmother. Spending time with family was her greatest blessing. She also enjoyed working in her yard and sewing. She will be missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Malcum Edward Magee; son Tony Malcolm Magee; father David Oscar Toney; mother Velma Mullins Toney; grandchild Lakeon Leigh Magee; brother Dan Toney; sisters Aline Toney Boyd, Mae Toney Jones, and Era Toney Grubbs.
Survivors include her daughters Belinda Magee VanDan (Gilmon) and Sheila Magee Zeigler (Larry); grandchildren Melissa Allen (Kent), Jodi Hutson, Carissa Johnson (Andrew), Lindsey Simnicht (Caleb), Landon Magee, and Lauren Magee; great-grandchildren, Brianna Hutson (BJ), Ainsley Allen (Harrison), Matthew Hutson, Aiken Allen, Dylan Johnson, and Jase Johnson; great-grandchild Kinley Jewell Fornea; brothers Jerry Ottis Toney (Pat); along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loving family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital, 2500 North State Street, Jackson, MS, 39216.
