Frances "Ruth" Cribbs Land, 87, of Columbus, MS passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at Trinity Health Care in Columbus, MS.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at East End Baptist Church, Hwy 50, Columbus, MS. Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM with Dr. Albert Wilkerson officiating. A graveside will follow at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church Cemetery, Guntown, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing. East End Baptist Church will be live-streaming the service on their Facebook page.

Ruth was born in Tippah County, MS on June 23, 1935, to the late Daniel G. Cribbs and Thelma V. (Call) Cribbs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings - James Cribbs, Virginia Cribbs, Clara Cribbs, Fay Holladay, and Sue Fields. Ruth worked many years in the banking business in Memphis, Aberdeen, and Columbus. She also worked alongside the love of her life, her husband, Floyd W. Land, in their auto parts business near the Columbus Air Base for nearly twenty years. Ruth and Floyd Land shared a wonderful marriage together for over forty years. Ruth was a faithful member of East End Baptist Church in Columbus, MS. She was a leader for the Lowndes County Day of Prayer for many years, a women's ministry leader, director of WMU for East End, leader of 24-hour prayer ministry, member of prayer team for CWJC, and a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Mrs. Land is survived by her daughter- Ann Land Ellis; grandchildren – Paul Ellis and Leigh Anne Peters, four great-grandchildren- Beckman, Alice, Maxwell, and Sam, brothers-in-law - Raymond Land and Robert Holladay; and sister-in-law- Faye Berry. Ruth loved her friends and family deeply. She showed her love by the thousands of cards she sent out each year. Ruth was loved by many and treasured by her God-daughters Casey Weathers and Donna Reed.

Pallbearers will be Eli Cloud, Paul Ellis, Taylor Chism, Jerry Harris, Russ McDaniel, and Mike Meggs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Curtis Pritchett, Travis Berry, Fred Bell, Ernie Smith, Charlie Veazey, Henry Mixon, and Ricky Weathers.

The Land and Weathers family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful people at East End Baptist Church who have prayed, sent cards, visited, and helped care for Ruth during her extended, illness. You are a blessing. Thank you for your faithfulness to serve others.
