Deborah "Debbie" Tortelli, nee Short was born on April 5, 1953 in Oceana, West Virginia. Debbie passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2023 in her home in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 70.
Debbie enjoyed crafts and spending time with her friends and family. Debbie really loved making bows and sharing them with other people. Debbie enjoyed romance and horror novels, TV shows and movies. Most of all she adored her granddaughter, Alexis.
Debbie will be remembered as a treasured friend, mother, grandmother and aunt who was greatly loved. Debbie made friends wherever she went. Debbie will be remembered as an unforgettable and loving person who left a footprint on our hearts.
Debbie is survived by her husband, John Tortelli, her children, Nicole Tortelli and Jessica Frehse and her husband, Curtis Frehse and grandchild, Alexis Frehse. Additionally, Debbie is survived by three sisters, Theresa McGraw, Susan Baily and her husband, Alvie Dean Baily and Rebecca Daniels and her husband, Jobie Danieles and one brother, Tim Short and many nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Edison and Joyce Short, her grandmother, Juanita (Granny) Jackson and by her sisters, Tammy Short and Dreama Wright.
In accordance with Debbie's wishes, she has been cremated and will rest peacefully in the Morgan Family Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services at 2919 4th NW, Albuquerque, NM, with a burial to follow in October of 2023 in the Morgan Family Cemetery in Fanrock, West Virginia.
