Angie Pitts, 30, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at her home. Visitation will be 11:00am-2:00pm today at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with funeral services at 2:00pm in the chapel. Burial will follow at Natchez Trace Memorial Park.
Angie had spent most of her life in Clinton, where she graduated from Clinton High School and was a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church. She was a volunteer coordinator at Southern Care Hospice and also volunteered at MDA camp and Horses for Handicapped. Angie was an accomplished singer and while living in Nashville had participated in the Dove and Country Music Awards. She loved animals of all kinds but especially horses and enjoyed riding and barrel racing.
Angie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Kay Akin, Gavin Pitts and Clara Pitts and her son, Daniel Christopher Pitts.
She is survived by her parents, Ron and Karen Pitts of Hattiesburg and Debby and Bob Johnson of Ridgeland; her brother, Jeff Pitts and fiancé Amber, of Hattiesburg; her stepbrothers, Clay and Nick Johnson, and Chris Pitts; her grandfather, Collins Akin, of Brandon; her special Aunt Kacky and Ed Havrilla, and a host of other family and friends who will miss her dearly.
