He was born November 15, 1957, in Jefferson City, the son of Clarence and Jewel (Staley) Brandt. On Sept. 11, 1976 in Hermann, MO he married Ruth Pottebaum. She survives at the home.
He is also survived by his mother, Jewel of Chamois; one daughter, Stacy Winsor of Jefferson City; one son, Austin Brandt of Jefferson City; two brothers, Delmar Brown of Jefferson City and Joe Brandt of Chamois; one sister, Linda Baker; and two grandchildren, Salvador and Julian Winsor. He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a boiler operator for the Fulton State Hospital. He was a member of the Dixie Christian Church.
