Orville O Rogers, Sr., 90, 407 McCulloch street, a resident of Portage county all his life, died Monday afternoon at 5:10 at St. Michael's hospital. He was ill for four days and was admitted to the hospital Monday.
Mr. Rogers was born in the town of Almond June 6, 1860, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rogers. He lived on his parents farm in the town of Almond until his marriage to Clara Zimondorf in March of 1893. He and his wife purchased a farm in Almond and they resided there until about 30 years ago when Mr. Rogers purchased a butcher shop at Bancroft and a farm near there. They moved to Stevens Point 25 years ago and Mr. Rogers was employed by the city for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Mrs. George Kunde of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Walter Wood and Mrs. William Hartlieb of Milwaukee, Mrs. Victor Heck of 318 Karner street, Mrs. Peter Knapp of 500 Dixon street and Mrs. Walter Beadle of 407 McCulloch street; three sons, Orville, Jr., of 915 Welsby avenue, Fred of Menasha and Foster of Menomonee Falls; 25 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. One son, a daughter, four brothers and two sisters precede him in death.

Orville's barn was destroyed and his house damaged when a devastating tornado struck Portage Co, WI, on October 3, 1903.
