Seventeen-year-old Sytha Ann Newman married James Henry McDonnell, Cincinnati, Ohio, and afterwards they resided in Stamping Ground, Kentucky. Her husband died in 1853. They had two children, Mrs. John Thomas Atkins and John McConnell, who lives in Switzer County, Kentucky.
Sytha Newman married Robert Sacry in April 1857. He died in 1866. They had five children, one of whom died in infancy. The others are James R. Sacry of Bloomington; Edgar Sacry of near Benjaminville; Mrs. Ambrose E. Dolley, Mrs. Anna W. Erion and Miss Louisa Sacry, all of Bloomington.
In 1883 Mrs. Sacry came to Bloomington where she has since resided.

Mrs Sacry came from the blue blooded stock of the early colonists. Her father John Newnam, was the son of John Newman of Pennsylvania's Revolutionary days who immigrated to Scott County Kentucky about the beginning of the last century.
Her mothers name was Cynthia Boots , the daughter of an early Virginia family.
Her father held the important position of overseer of a large plantation belonging to Leonidas Johnson , son of Lt Governor Johnson, who is the famed sponsor for the Indian School at Stamping Ground, Ky.
