Ricky Lynn Archer was born April 16th, 1955 in Cheyenne Oklahoma to Doris and Willie Archer. He passed away Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 at his home in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 65 years, 8 months and 21 days.
Ricky grew up in Cheyenne, Oklahoma and attended school in Cheyenne and Elk City, Oklahoma. After leaving school he began his 20 plus years career in the oil field. He worked for various companies preforming roughneck duties.
It was during this time that he met Tammy (Cotton) and they lived in Sayre. After he left the oil field in 1992, they moved to Woodward, Oklahoma where Ricky cooked at a restaurant. They later returned to Sayre, Oklahoma in 2004 and Ricky became the dog catcher until 2012. He and Tammy were married on March 12, 2005 in Sayre, Oklahoma and continued to make the Sayre community their home. Ricky was a man of many talents and could work on and fix just about anything. He enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, listening to music, playing games and spending time with his friends and family during celebrations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, granddaughter, sister and a nephew.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Tammy, Sayre, OK; 7 children, BJ Smith, Chris Berryman, Michael Berryman, Rusty Archer, Tamatha Rackley, Justin Berryman and Samantha Archer; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Johnny Rice Archer and Terry Archer; 1 sister, Chiquita Dodson and a host of other relatives and friends.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
