Jim was born on February 13, 1920 in Arkansas. He was a long time resident of Colorado Springs, moving in 1945. He was married on March 30, 1941 to loving wife, Lola Thompson. Jim was a member of the Circle Drive Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, camping, tending to his garden and spending time on the ranch riding horses. Jim would go to the Sandys Restaurant daily to enjoy a cup of coffee while laughing and joking with his friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest. Jim is survived by 2 daughters: Connie Thompson, Donna (Jack) Gabardi, 4 grandchildren: Terry Humphrey, Jodi Boehs, Wayne Humphrey, Tonya Gabardi, 5 great grandchildren, one sister Nita Smith, and one brother Ward Thompson. He was preceded by his mother, father, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Circle Drive Baptist Church, 801 N. Circle Dr., Colorado Springs, CO 80909 with a burial at Peyton Cemetery in Peyton, CO at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2010.
