John A. Bradon, Once Middle River Man, Dies in West

John Alfred Brandon, a former resident of the Middle River community, passed away at his home in Eugene, Oregon, September 21. He was born May 13, 1883, in Black River Falls, Wis.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 24, in the Presbyterian church with Rev. Robert Paten officiation. Interment was in Reedsport, Oregon.

John Brandon was united in marriage to Ella Carlson on May 15, 1906 in this city. Seventeen children were born to them. One son, Jack passed away April 4, 1953.

The Brandon family moved to Oregon from Minnesota in 1926, making their home in Reedsport and in later years at Eugene. Mr. Brandon was a retired millworker.

Surviving him are his wife, six daughters, Mrs. Ethel Johnson, Mrs. Ruby Moch, Mrs. Margie Peters, Mrs. Helen Trueman, all of Eugene, Oregon; Mrs. Bernice Bates of Reedsport, Oregon; Mrs. Esther Rose of Bozeman, Mont.; five sons, Bud of Eugene; Walter of Coos Bay, Oregon; Arthur of North Bend, Ore.; and Martin and Ray of Reedsport; 32 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren; two brothers Matt of Canada and Oscar of Middle River; and one sister, Annie Haugen of Crookston.
