Richard John "Pops" Fluegel passed away at home on January 15, 2010 at the age of 82. He was born on November 19, 1927 in Englewood, New Jersey to Louis and Rosaria Romano Fluegel. He grew up in New York City where he met and married his beloved wife of 59 years, Hyacinth Kavilla Fluegel. Together they had seven children. He lived in Colorado Springs with his grandson, Michael. He is survived by four sons: James, Michael, Thomas and Richard Jr.; a daughter, Denise; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchldren. Pops was preceded in death by his wife Hyacinth, son Gerard, son Billy, and great-granddaughter Abigail. Graveside services will be held at Peyton Cemetery in Peyton, CO on January 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Diabetes Foundation and to Pikes Peak Hospice in his honor. Funeral arrangements are being made by Cappadona Funeral Home.
