Funeral services for the Rev. Logan Ansel Harper, 79, of Lexington will be held today Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Pierce officiating. Interment will be held at Lexington Cemetery under the direction of Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Rev. Harper died December 11, 2006 at Norman Regional Hospital. He was born September 24, 1927 in Rush Springs, the oldest of five children of the Rev. Johnnie Willard Harper and Maggie Leona Harrison Harper.

After high school, he entered Bible College and obtained his Masters of Theology. Rev. Harper married Betty Treeby in 1952 and the couple had four children. He pastored many Assembly of God churches in his 45 years of ministry including churches in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas, beginning new churches along the way.

Rev. Harper married Evelyn Bernice Thompson September 4, 1993 and they made their home in Lexington. He had been a faithful member of Lighthouse Worship Center in Purcell where he served as an elder.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Roma Ruth and Norma Jean Harper.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, of the home; one son, Vance Logan of Granbury, Texas; three daughters, Zelda Wilmoth and her husband, Joe, of Starkville, Mississippi, Janis Adkins of New Braunsfield, Texas and Rhonda Hare and her husband, Charles of Harlingen, Texas; one stepdaughter, Linda Durbin and her husband, Dale of Purcell; one sister, Thaya Dickinson and her husband, Charles of Purcell; one brother, the Rev. Dwayne Harper and his wife, Wanda, of Mansfield Center, Connecticut, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Roberts, Darrell Shobert, Charles Dickinson, the Rev. Joe Wilmoth, the Rev. Chris Thompson and Dean Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Lighthouse Seniors and Associates, the Rev. Gayland Cannon, the Rev. Jake Honeycutt, the Rev. L. B. Haley, the Rev. Buck Jordan, the Rev. Winn Mack and "The Guest."
