Steven Adams passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 30, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on November 15, 1948, in Vincennes, Indiana, to Clifford Adams and Vonda Lewis. Steve was preceded in death by his father, mother, and stepfather, Max Lewis.

Steve will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband to Sherry Adams, a caring father to Scott (Melissa) Adams, Justin (Colleen) Adams, and Ashley (Derek) Ried, and a cherished Papaw to Caroline, Charlotte, Reid, Quinlan, Ryan, and Mitchell. He was also a beloved brother to Ron (Sandy) Adams. Steve's presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Steve led a long and full life. He proudly served in the US Army, stationed in Korea. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University and later completed his Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. Steve dedicated his professional career to safety management, working at the Indianapolis Chrysler Foundry and the Safety Management Group before retiring.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Steve was an active member of the Noblesville American Legion Post 45. He enjoyed lazy days fishing and playing golf, basking in the Florida sunshine and warmth. He loved to listen to his favorite Golden Oldies station and had a remarkable talent for singing along to every word. On sunny days, Steve loved hopping in his vintage Maserati and taking a long drive. Steve had an endless supply of terrible dad jokes, which he enjoyed performing for anyone who might give a chuckle (or a groan). He loved a good story and appreciated good friends- and could often be found around a table enjoying both.

In honor of Steve's memory, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Legion.

Services entrusted to Flanner Buchanan- Hamilton Memorial Park (Prairie Waters), Westfield, Indiana. Steve will be laid to rest at a later date in the National Cemetery at Crown Hill in Indianapolis.
