Mrs. Hammett was born March 1, 1936, in Gregg County, Texas, to Herman and Mary Ann Miller and was a resident of the Gregg County area for most of her life. She was a homemaker and co-owner and bookkeeper of H & S Lawn Service in Gladewater. She was a member of Longview First Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Dean Hammett Jr.; and sister, Louise Twilley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 51 years, Ronnie Hammett of Gladewater; children, Billy Wayne Hammett and wife, Donna of Jesup, Ga., and Roger Lee Hammett and wife, Beth of Gladewater; grandchildren, Michael Hammett and wife, Joni, and Ron, Brandon, Charles, Cameron, Robin and Alyssa Hammett; great-grandchildren, Levi, Layni and Ryan Hammett; special niece, Gayle Garner of Lake Cherokee; numerous other nieces and nephews; and sister, Bobbie Reynolds of Gladewater.
