In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her son, Jerry McMahan; grandchildren, Devontae Alvey, Terrance Cable, and Karah Willison; siblings, Robert (Bob) Alvey, Charles (Charlie) Alvey, Richard (Richey) Alvey, Paul Alvey, Betty Miller, Shirley Hoosier, and Mary Alvey.
Rita is survived by her husband, James A. Texas; her children, Vernon Alvey, Gladys Alvey, Terra McMahan, Diana Willison, Amy Fahey, Nancy Russelberg, Richard Texas, George Texas, James Texas, Linda Clark, and Anna Neely; her sisters, Thelma Campbell, and Dorothy Kellems; 30 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 P.M. Tuesday, June 6, 2023, with Pastor Walter Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation is from 12 P.M. until 2 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
