Patricia "Gail" Bybee

Patricia Gail Bybee was born March 11, 1946, to John Arthur and Maudie Belle (Gustin) Smith.
She passed away June 2, 2023, at the age of 77 surrounded by family that loved her. She attended
school at Stecker and Apache High School where she was an active basketball player and graduated as Salutatorian. She married the love of her life, Joe Milton, on June 5, 1964. They had two kids, John Milton and Christy.

Gail was the oldest of six girls; one sister, Debra, died as an infant. After the passing of her mother, Gail helped raise her younger sisters - Becky, Cindy, Johnetta and Diana.

Gail was very active and a founder of the YHO program and the Apache Booster Club. She and Milton always worked the Apache Rattlesnake Festival. She ran B&S Farm Supply alongside her husband Milton for 15 years before dedicating 28 years of her life at Comanche County Health Department. She enjoyed creating crafts and loved her grandchildren and great granddaughter more than anything and always made sure to make it to every game. She was the biggest packrat and made sure she kept everything she came across. She and her 3 sisters were known as the 4 Queens.

Gail is survived by her husband, Milton of the home; son, John Bybee and wife Jamie of Apache;
grandsons: Joshua Bybee, Jacob Bybee and wife Katie; and great granddaughter, Daylee Bybee;
daughter, Christy Bowen and husband Steve of Apache; granddaughters: Lexi Bowen, Liza Bowen; sisters: Becky and Steve Mattoon, Johnetta and husband Gregg Miller, Diana and Chigger Burch; sister-in-law, Marlene and Phillip London; brothers-in-law: Jerry Huckleberry, Paul McWilliams, Royce White and wife Elsie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; as well as many, many "adopted" kids and grandchildren that called her mom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maudie Smith; sisters: Debra Smith, Cindy
and her husband Stan Sexton; in-laws, Garland and Bobbi Bybee and Elvie Bybee; sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law: Laquitta and Leon Monroe, Kaleta and Jim Hudgins, Carla Huckleberry, Delbert and
Barbra White, Ginger White, Glenda McWilliams; niece, Nancy Monroe; nephew Robert White; and
numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Tuesday, June 6, between 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, June 7, from 10:00-12:00 p.m. at Crews Funeral Home. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Apache on Wednesday, June 7, at 2:00 p.m., with Kerry Glasgow officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Bybee, Jacob Bybee, John Bybee, Rodney Head, Waylon McCray, and Chance McCray.
